Sometimes patients might require a sinus lift before getting dental implants.
The maxillary sinuses – or sinuses, as we generally refer to them – are situated in the back of the upper jaw. When upper teeth at the back are lost, bone is lost with them. Often, the only way to replace these is by grafting the sinus area to create bone that will hold dental implants.
A sinus lift is a bone graft onto which new ‘teeth’ can be securely attached.
During this surgical procedure, Dr Stavros will lift the sinus to make space for a bone graft to ensure adequate bone quantity and quality in the upper jaw for him to place dental implants.
Most sinus lift cases can be performed using minimally invasive techniques that reduce the pain, discomfort, swelling and at the same time to deliver great results.
